Pizon Bros Translitor 1000 FM "bluetooth" transistor radio

Transistor radio dating from 1961 manufactured by the French brand Pizon Bros.

This Translitor 1000FM model was classified as a HI-FI radio and it still deserves this designation because the power and musical quality are truly exceptional, and some current models pale in comparison!

It offers two wavebands in amplitude modulation: LW, MW, and FM. The keypad also includes a "loop" button that allows you to select reception of LW or MW broadcasts via the built-in ferrite (loop) antenna or the external antenna. Its telescopic antenna is in good condition.

Amplitude modulation reception gradually becomes silent as stations progressively shut down. On long wave, all French stations have ceased broadcasting on LW, and on MW depending on the region; a few foreign stations are currently still broadcasting.

On the back you can find a headphone jack (mono) 3.5mm diameter, an RCA type jack which allowed to connect a mono turntable (pick-up), this function has been removed and replaced by the bluetooth function, a plug for an external FM antenna (300 ohms), a car antenna jack (75 ohms FM) and a switch allowing to modify the consumption on the batteries which affects the sound power.

It is equipped with the Bluetooth function in "PU" position, which allows it, via a smartphone or other device, to stream music from Deezer, Spotify, Youtube or radio apps such as Radioplayer or Radio Garden, and to access all FM stations, even those at the other end of France or even the entire world, with very good sound quality.

The battery that was required for its operation is no longer available; for its replacement, it has been equipped with a new system allowing the installation of 6 LR20 (D) type batteries; the batteries are not supplied with the device.
