Vintage valve radio Radiola type RADIOLO RA119U from 1960
This radio is equipped with the following tubes: UY85, UCL82, UCH81 and UBF80
It is designed for receiving SW (shortwave) and LW (longwave) broadcasts. The gradual and scheduled shutdown of AM (amplitude modulation) broadcasts means that these devices gradually go silent. French LW stations are completely shut down, as are SW stations, although depending on the region, some foreign stations may still be broadcasting.
A solution was found to bring this old device back to life: it is now equipped with Bluetooth technology, allowing it to connect via your phone like smart speakers to audio apps such as Spotify, Deezer and YouTube, or radio apps such as Radioplayer and Radio Garden, to receive all FM or international stations with excellent sound quality. This Bluetooth connection was installed in place of the LW selector, as longwave broadcasts are completely shut down.
