Vintage tube radio from the 50s, manufacturer Ariane, model 601A
This version is equipped with the following tubes: ECH42, 6BA6, 6AV6, 6AQ5, EM34
It can receive AM wavebands, namely GO (long waves), PO (small waves), Oc (short waves) and BE (spread band). You should know that the reception of AM stations becomes silent and most stations are nowadays stopped to go to FM and digital version.
In order to give new life to these old radios, we had to think and this one now offers Bluetooth connections and can via your smartphone (for example) receive the sound from applications that can be downloaded for free on your phone such as radioplayer, radio garden, spotify, deezer, youtube etc... And this allows you to listen to all FM stations and even radios worldwide with good musical quality but very retro.
As for the presentation, it is in a metal box with imitation wood decoration (a few small snags on the decoration are to be noted but nothing serious... the previous owner wanted to do a good job of cleaning the dial and some of the inscriptions have been erased, alas!
For the reception of the still existing stations, this varies from one region to another, it will be necessary to connect an external antenna because at the time indoor antennas were not made....
